The inaugural Uzbekistan–China: Top Think Tanks Forum 10+10, themed "A New Stage in China-Uzbekistan Relations: Shared Vision and Shared Future," was held at Shanghai International Studies University on June 6–7, 2026.
Co-hosted by the university's Shanghai Academy of Global Governance and Area Studies and the Development Strategy Center of the Republic of Uzbekistan, the forum will convene annually on a rotating basis, featuring keynote speeches, roundtable discussions, and field visits to foster institutionalized cooperation between universities and think tanks of both countries and contribute to a China-Uzbekistan community with a shared future.
The inaugural session brought together over 20 scholars and experts from universities, think tanks, research institutions, and government agencies of both countries. They engaged in in-depth discussions on China-Central Asia relations amid a changing global and regional landscape, shared development visions and national priorities, bilateral economic, security, and multilateral cooperation, and the outlook for China-Uzbekistan relations from 2030 to 2050.
